Experience the craftmanship, tradition and fine dining culture

The porcelain museum is one of a kind for its Meissen collections and known throughout the world. In the museum you will discover Meissen® from a new perspective. Here at the museum, craftsmanship, tradition and fine dining culture come alive.

In the demonstration workshops you can see the quality handwork that creates Meissen porcelain®. Throughout the ages, artists at the Meissen factory have coined the style of European porcelain.

The Exhibition Hall boasts the most extensive collection of Meissen porcelain from its early beginning in 1710 to today. The collections on show are supplemented by numerous special exhibitions on various themes.

You can also enjoy a meal or light snack served on Meissen porcelain® in the Meissen® Restaurant or Café.

The museum was opened as an exhibition hall in 1916 and the visitors' centre was a welcomed extension when it opened in 2005. Meissen® porcelain murals totalling 35m long and 9m high embellish the facades. The motifs tell the story of the manufactory.
